Malwarebytes Tray Application Startup
Click to expand.-I am running Windows 8.1I went into the Advanced Settings of Malwarebytes and the ability to change or untic any of the already ticed options is greyed out so I can't change or untic anything in there and that is most likely causing this to react this way. I would probably have to buy the Upgaded Premium version to have control of those options. Funny though, cause I have 4 other Windows PCs (however they are all running Windows 7) and the Advance Settings are the same as those on my Windows 8.1 machined but the program does not start running when I turn on my other computers.I guess I can just Cancel it while it's running at startup and run in manually at a later time. Click to expand. I highlighted each one and selected: Stop the ServiceI rebooted the computer and went back into Services and those two references to Malewarebytes still show Status Type: Automatic but the Status no longer shows Running. The only options I get when highlighting a service is to Stop the Service or Start the Service. Will try it a day or so and get back to you if that fixed the problem, Okay? Please disregard the text.txt.txt file below as it is for and in response to post #10.

But again, the program does its best to make things clear by displaying a large 'let's get started by cleaning your machine' prompt, with an arrow pointing to a Scan Now button. This initial scan ran quickly on our test PC, and although it was a little more aggressive than we hoped, flagging some legitimate software as 'potentially unwanted programs', it also spotted our test malware without difficulty.Checking the Malwarebytes installation folders showed a relatively lightweight package at around 210MB of files.
