Hello,This is highly subjective to the rifle.Czech silver-tipped light ball is largely considered the best ofthe surplus ammunition, but it does produce hygroscopic salts whichlead to rusting if the rifle is not cleaned right away.For new production ammunition, Prvi Partisan, Winchester, andS&B work nicely. However, they are brass-cased and are about $1US per round. They are really only worth the cost if you plan toreload (I do).Wolf, Barnaul, and Brown Bear are all produced on ex-militarymachinery, are steel cased and non-reloadable. When I downloaded the Mosin Nagant, I noticed most of my shots weren't shooting straight. There's RNG(Random-Number-Generated) bullet spread on Snipers in Fallout which makes no sense to me, now it will shoot on target.If you want to know how I fixed it, read the description. Because we want it, that's really all it boils down to. Though for weapons that are pre-Divergence (meaning they existed IRL before the 1950s, as is the case with literally every WWII weapon) or already canon (e.g the P90, G3, G11, and AR/AK series of rifles), there's a fairly easy argument to be made that they're all lore-friendly additions.
The Mosin in particular is literally the most common military-surplus bolt-action rifle, with something like 17 MILLION in existence and 12-rifle crates popping up for sale regularly (they're cheap as hell too - $2-300 per gun is average, with $4-500 being high or a rip-off depending on the specific markings on the gun), so it's frankly rather laughable to think there wouldn't be a couple floating around in post-nuke America.
