Desktop Windows Manager Has Stopped Working

Just upgraded my PC with a new graphics card and more RAM - Radeon RX470, 8 GB - and this set up was running fine with my old AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor. Today I got a new processor (AMD FX 8350) and after installing it and booting my computer I'm finding that Desktop Window Manager is not working. OS will load fine past the 'Starting Windows' phase, will come up with 'Loading Profile', but then will go blank for a couple of seconds and then show my desktop as normal: but with a flashing prompt in the task bar saying that 'Desktop Window Manager has stopped working'. AMD Radeon Settings and also some games will now no longer load and will also straight away display the '. Has stopped working' prompt.I have updated my graphics drivers; wiped them and all AMD software with the AMD uninstall utility and installed from disk that came with the graphics card; and then done this again and downloaded the latest from the AMD website. None of this has solved the problem.I have also ran sfc /scannow to check for errors and while it found some it was not able to fix any of the problems. As an experiment I shutdown and plugged my old AMD Athlon II X4 640 back in and the error does not appear and all programs run as expected.

So I guess there seems to be a problem only when using my new processor but I can't troubleshoot it any further, anyone know where to go from here? Thanks.Specs:CPU - AMD FX 8350Motherboard - Gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3GPU - Radeon RX 470RAM - 8GBOS - Windows 7 Ultimate. Okay then power supply? Also try downclocking/undervolting your CPU. Those boards REALLY dislike those 8350sI've got a 600w psu and according to power calculators I used before that should be plenty for my current build. I underclocked/undervolted to 3GHz/1.05V, which is are the specs for the X4 640, but when I restart the problems still persist.Did a bit of reading up and you're right, seems that this board really can have a host of problems with the FX8350s. Oh well, seems like I'm just going to have to wait until I have enough cash to get a new mobo.

Best Answer: Hi friend. It seems DMM.exe is currupted. Some times an application or software installation makes this type of problem.try to remove that applications that you installed from last date. Goto command prompt and type this sfc/scannow wait for completing this task.hope it wil.
