Dec 18, 2018 - After upgrading to a new Windows 10 version, you will see two folders called $WINDOWS.BT and $WINDOWS.WS within the system drive,. The $WINDOWS.BT and $WINDOWS.WS folders are associated with the Windows 10 upgrade process. They may appear on either Windows 7, 8, or 10, using gigabytes of disk. To delete these folders you can use a Windows tool called Disk Cleanup. To access Disk Cleanup, type cleanmgr in the search field of the Windows Start Menu or on the Windows 8 Start Screen.
So I've been unable to install the creator's update ever since it froze and botched my system. I managed to get that fixed, but now I'm pretty sure there's some corrupted update file. When I try to update through WU, it says other updates are in progress. I've tried tons of stuff (media creation tool, windows update troubleshooter, etc.). One of the solutions was to delete $WINDOWS.BT, and I think that might be it, because there's something definitely wrong with the folder - it is impossible to delete. I can't do it through disk cleaner (yes I clicked system files), as it simply doesn't appear there.
